Our youth are 4th-9th graders who are interested in building their community, working and learning with adults, developing their identities, and setting and achieving their own goals.
"Children must be taught how to think, not what to think."

"Each of us has a spark of life in us, and our highest endeavor ought to be to set off that spark in on another."

Facilitators are young adults from diverse backgrounds who enjoy supporting youth and model racial equity, engaged learning and growth, and community building. They will also model healthy communication and will provide youth with coaching and a supportive sounding board.
We are thrilled to partner with our local universities to provide professional development opportunities to local college students, and to learn from their creative, wise minds and lived experiences.
"The key to being a good mentor is to help people become more of who they already are -- not make them more like you."
- Suze Orman
Community Mentors are enriched by the hobbies, skills and professions in their own lives who want to share one or more of those activities with young people. Community mentors offer an hour or more of their time to open young people's eyes to potential outlets for the youth's skills and interests.
Administrators and Coordinators
“You never change things by fighting against the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the old model obsolete.”
- Buckminster Fuller
Our Program Administrators and Coordinators support Grow Your World programming in many ways, building relationships with community partners, providing support and planning professional development opportunities for our facilitators, and ensuring the safety and flexibility of program operations.
"Life itself is your teacher, and you are in a state of constant learning."

Families are partners and guides in how to best support young people. We are grateful to families for sharing their wisdom and for being willing to join us in growing our worlds.

"A lot of people have gone further than they thought because someone else thought they could."
Grow Your World utilizes the wisdom of Community Partners to ensure that our program is steeped in the wisdom from trusted community leaders' experience. We are thankful when the wisdom of our community shows up for us, providing encouragement, advice, leadership and opportunities to collaborate.
"Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection."
- Mark Twain
We seek support and expertise from researchers, educators, professionals and consultants in a wide variety of theories and tools to support Grow Your World programming. We choose professional developers who align with our values and support our programming staff and community in getting closer to our vision.
Getting to explore our community allows youth to see the opportunities available at their fingertips. If you have a space that you'd like to share with youth, please reach out Sophie, our executive director, as firstname.lastname@example.org.
Currently all of Grow Your World is virtual, which allows us to connect across borders and boundaries.
